Ray Tompkins

Ray Tompkins is an Of Counsel trial lawyer with the Mazaheri Law Firm. Mr. Tompkins has been a Trial Advocate for 47 years. He currently has increased his practice to include arbitration, mediation, early neutral evaluation and community facilitation. He has been selected for “Best Lawyers of America,” “Who’s Who in American Law” and “Who’s Who in the World.”
Tompkins is a member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, and the American Bar Association; and has served as Chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, Law Day Committee, and the Bench and Bar Committee. His serivce received several awareds, inclduing the Presidents Award. He is currently licensed to practice beofre all Federal and State Courts in Oklahoma, The 10th, 9th, and 4th U.S. Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.
He is currently on the State and Federal Court mediation panels and has conducted over 800 meditations with a 98% success rate. He has either been Chairman or a member of various arbitration panels in over 100 arbitrations for the American Arbitration Association, National Association of Security Deals, New York Stock Exchange, National Arbitration Forum, or by court order.
He has served as Secretary to the National Board of the Association of Attorney Mediators and has received the President’s Award from that organization. He has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators. He is a Emeritus Master of the William J. Holloway American Inn of Court, and is a former President and Master of the Robert J. Turner American Inn of Court.
Tompkins has had primary responsibility for the trial work of personal injury, insurance disputes, oil and gas disputes, contract, securities, medical or legal malpractice, construction, complex multi-party actions,employment (wrongful termination or sexual harassment), accounting, architecture design, complex environmental claims, toxic torts, election contests, and other similar actions.
Tompkins has served in Washington D.C. as the Chief of Staff to Congressman James V. Smith (R.-OK) and has participated either as a manager or consultant in various Republican political campaigns. He was appointed by both former Governor’s Henry Bellmon and Frank Keating to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Commission, which he served as Chairman. He was also appointed by Governor Bellmon as General Counsel of the Interstate Oil Compact Commission.
He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University, where he earned a Blue Key. Additionally, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Law and has returned there as an Adjunct Professor in Trial Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has taught Business law and Para-Legal Studies at Oscar Rose College, and has taught various trial practice and alternative dispute resolution courses to the American Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association, and the Attorney-Mediators Association.
He is married to Sue Anne and has three children.
